Those to celebrate this year:

Jane Miller, 30 years.

“Family has always been important – now more than ever.  I have loved teaching at Sugar Creek because it has felt like a second home to me, with an amazing extended family.  I am fortunate to teach here!  Sugar Creek’s diversity of students, their families and staff are its strength.  We celebrate and honor our beautiful mosaic of various cultures!  There is an African proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child”.  At Sugar Creek every single colleague is a valued and integral part of this village.  All striving as a team to offer a tip notch education with caring and kindness – as children learn with smiles and laughter. "

Lisa Fortney, 25 years.

“Sugar Creek is a place where caring, genuine people greet you warmly and with a smile.  It is clear to me; all are welcome here.”

Peggie Rosenbaum, 20 years.

Jen Maier, 5 years.

“I love working at Sugar Creek because of the awesome learners and staff.  Truly, we all work together to help each other.  Being a part of this great team inspires me to do the very best I can each day no matter the circumstances.  I feel fortunate to be surrounded by inspirational people and their energy!”

Trista Kaja, 5 years.

“What I love about working at Sugar Creek is the continual effort to keep equity at the center of all of our decisions and actions. This is reflected in our exceptional and diverse staff, our school improvement committees/goals, and our positive behavioral supports to students. Our school works hard to ensure all students, staff, and families feel welcomed, included, and have what they need to succeed.”

Justin Rippl, 5 years.

“The people at Sugar Creek are what make it a special place, from our amazing students and supportive families to the relationships and camaraderie among the staff. I feel so fortunate to teach at a school that always puts people first.”

“I truly enjoy working at Sugar Creek Elementary. All staff are supportive and working hard to do their best for every single student and the Sugar Creek community. I am grateful to work with teachers and staff members who support me, and also push me to continue learning and growing so I can do my very best. Additionally, it's incredibly rewarding to work with such an incredible group of students and families.”

Fran Veguilla, 5 years.

“I enjoy working at Sugar Creek because we are a family. The Sugar Creek community is a warm and welcoming one in which every single member is valued for the important role they play in educating ALL students to succeed. The school is further enriched by a culturally and linguistically diverse staff representative of the community we serve.”
