This is the image for the news article titled Sugar River GalleryThere's something really wonderful in the Sugar River Gallery (located
within VAHS) right now and I invite you all to stop by and check it
out!

The second graders in Ms. Kroetz's class at Sugar Creek Elementary
collaborated, designed, and constructed their own 3-dimensional city -Verona Town. This expansive unit focused on the intersection of Art and Social Studies, culminating in an installation of their work in the Sugar River Gallery.  Ms. Ann Kruse, our art teacher, closely teamed with Ms. Kroetz and gave careful guidance to the students and organized the installation at the high school. Their experiences with this unit also included a visit with the Verona Chamber of Commerce to learn about
city planning, and collaborating with Ms. Makovec's Desktop Publishing
course at VAHS to design and print their own city brochures!

The show will be up until May 3rd and is open for visiting anytime during school hours 7 to 4  or after school this Wednesday, April 27th until 5 pm. Please consider stopping by with students, or just by yourself, to see their awesome work! They have even constructed a mailbox for visitors to leave comments. :) It means a lot to show your support!
