Principal Welcome

Dear Sugar Creek families,

On behalf of the incredible staff at Sugar Creek, we are honored and excited to welcome you to the 2025-26 school year!  Sugar Creek has a fabulous reputation for having a strong sense of community; high academic and behavioral expectations; and progress towards creating an equitable school where every child belongs, is safe and cared for, and is taught by excellent educators.  At Sugar Creek we teach students our Three Expectations:  to be Safe, Caring and Responsible (“SCR:  It’s who we are.”)

Sugar Creek has won 21 local, state, and national awards just since 2013 in health and wellness, behavioral systems of support, math, and reading!  This is no coincidence. These awards reflect the world-class education all students receive at this school.  For instance, our Two-Way Immersion program offers students an opportunity to achieve a high level of proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing in both English and Spanish.

Our Kindergarten through Fifth Grade student body of about 600 students (over 42% who identify as Black, Latino, Asian American, Native American, or other non-white backgrounds) and 100 staff (36% who identify as Black, Latino, Asian American, Native American, or other non-white backgrounds), our mission is to foster positive cross-cultural and linguistic attitudes and behaviors and experiences throughout the school and curriculum.  As a family member, our Parent Teacher Organization will offer you opportunities to be an engaged and active part of our school community – please consider being involved at school by emailing them at sugarcreekpto@gmail.com
