Extended Day

Extended Day information set out to families during the school year. Below is a look at Sugar Creek's current Extended Day activities for students. If you are interested in Extended Day please contact your school secretary or child's 4th or 5th grade teacher.

Below are a list of some of the fun Extended Day classes we offered last year

 

Hip Hop Dance with Ms. Middleton 

Hip Hop Dance uses DANCE PARTY kid-friendly hip hop and pop routines to help students development key elements like confidence, self-esteem, memory, creativity and coordination while exercising and staying active.

Sphero Dot & Dash with Ms. Ruder

Sphero Dot and Dash incorporates coding and robots with playing games, shooting hoops and much more. Students will learn about coding and then have the chance to practice their new knowledge in a encouraging environment.

 

Theatre Club with Ms. Sayre

The theater club helps students develop their theatrical skills; like improv, facial expressions, speaking, singing, and dancing. Students will learn and perform a popular musical theater shows that they will perform for their parents at the end of the extended session.

 

D&D Club with Mr. Kroenke and Mr. Westberg

D&D coding gives students the opportunity to enjoy fantasy stories. Students will learn how to play the game filled with adventure, imagination, problem-solving, improvisation, teamwork and a some math. 

 

 

 

Wellness for Kids with Ms. Castellanos

Wellness will teach students how to engage in a variety of activities that promotes self-confidence and well-being. Students will participate in activities include mindfulness crafts, and healthy snack making.

 

 

Stitches with Ms. Johnson

Stitches is a class that allows students a chance to learn important sewing skills. Students will learn how to fix clothing with rips and tears as well as making a craft items that are their very own design; such as a pouch and a stuffed monster.

 

 

 

 

 

Latinx with Ms. Perez

Students in Latinx will be provided with the opportunity to celebrate and exploring the Latinx culture in a number of fun activities. These activities and games are focused on cultural exploration, language skills, storytelling and community building.

 

 

 

Paddle Up Pickleball with

Ms. Borelli

Paddle Up Pickleball is a beginner level course that will teach students how to play the game pickleball. Students will learn the all the important fundamentals of pickleball along with learning some strategies  skills, and court positioning for single and double players.

Bloxels Gotta CatchEm All with

Mr. Beirowski

Student who enjoy customize video games, then Bloxels is the class for you. Students will have a hands-on experience making animated characters, items, villain in a ultimate Pokémon video game experience.
