We’d like to extend a sincere thank you to our families for making the switch to electronic report cards. This shift helps VASD reduce our environmental footprint, streamlines communication, and allows for quicker, easier access to important student information. We appreciate your support in making this transition smooth and successful. Together, we’re helping create a more sustainable future for our school community! To access your student’s report card:
Please reach out to Ms. Galvan at galvana@verona.k12.wi.us with questions about accessing your learner’s reports. For those families who opted for a hard copy of the report card, they will be coming home with your child on Friday, January 30th. Digital copies will be available mid-day on January 30th as well. |

The Fitchburg Verona Horizons Rotary Club recently delivered a special gift to our entire Third Grade: a Webster’s Dictionary for Students! Mr. Steven First delivered the dictionaries in person to our students, and we all had fun looking up some VERY important words in our new dictionaries, such as “thank you” and “cheese”! |

Sugar Creek recently arranged for an opportunity for our students to give feedback and suggestions to our district’s food service leaders. On January 21st, Fifth Graders Alice, Clara, Analia, Gus, Jack, Peter, Kira, Isaac, Hayden and Camdyn met with VASD Food Service Director Robyn Billig and VASD Assistant Food Service Director Jenna Anthonly, and shared what’s going well with Breakfast and Lunch, and what ideas and suggestions they have for change. They were very open, honest, and helpful! One thing that we learned: Food Service has a live survey to the right of the menus, where students and families can give feedback. You’ll see a box that says, “We want your feedback. Click here to take the survey.”

Our school district’s Central Office hosts frequent student art displays. Presently, there’s a beautiful one (as you can see from the picture) called “Fifth Grade Color Study.” Families are allowed to visit should you ever wish. |

If you missed fall enrollment, we currently have limited spots available for registration. Get ready for an exciting semester beginning in February! Our theme, ¡Vamos a Explorar!, brings culture and hands-on learning to life as students “explore” Panamá City, sing lively songs, play interactive games, and act out everyday scenarios like visiting the mall and their neighborhood. Students will practice real-life conversational Spanish, build confidence using numbers and phrases like “¿Cuánto cuesta?”, and strengthen their language skills while having fun and sparking curiosity. Register today to reserve your student’s spot—spaces are very limited! Please note: Students enrolled in the Full Year session that began in the fall do not need to re-enroll. |

Each January Sugar Creek holds well-publicized sessions where families of future Kindergarteners can learn about our school (including its excellent Two Way Immersion option.) A big shout to our Student Council members, who lead the tours, and to Mr. Rose, Ms. Kyle, and Ms. Kruse, who spoke to families along the way about our superb physical education, music, and art programs. |
